From the recording In Your Silence

CCM/Rock

Starts slow, but ends with a punch!

This song was given to me by God while I was walking along the beach the day after my pastor, Scott McKay, had delivered a powerful sermon about the importance of silence in our worship. The whole song was finished in about an hour, but it has taken me several weeks to get it recorded. Fortunately, our church has been blessed with a wonderful singer, Jennifer Barber. I knew I wanted her for this song from the very first. It fits her powerful voice to a T. Although our sermon was about OUR silence, and taking the time to really listen for and to God, this song speakes more about the times when HE chooses to be silent. He builds our faith in these times, if we choose to let him. I hope this song really makes you realize that God's Silence can be a comfort, not a punishment. He cares about us enough to strengthen us, even if it means not talking to us for awhile.

In Your Silence
We long for a whisper
In Your Silence
We seek Your face
In Your Silence
You teach us to trust You
In Your Silence
We learn how to pray.

In Your Silence
We learn about patience
In Your Silence
You teach us faith
In Your Silence
We yearn for an answer
In Your Silence
We learn how to wait.

(Chorus)

Waves crash in the ocean with a roar,
Thunder booms in a lightning storm
Wind howls thru a forest of trees
But Your silence speaks louder to me,
Yes, Your silence speaks louder to me.

In Your Silence
Your Spirit is with us
In Your Silence
You hold us close
In Your Silence
Your arms are around us
In Your Silence
You love us the most.

(Chorus)
Waves crash in the ocean with a roar,
Thunder booms in a lightning storm
Wind howls thru a forest of trees
But Your silence speaks louder to me
Yes,Your silence speaks louder to me.
(repeat)
2nd time:
Yes, Your silence brings comfort to me.

(Instrumental)

In Your Silence
Faith can move mountains
In Your Silence
The weak become strong
In Your Silence
You fill us with power
In Your Silence
Our faith will carry on.
(repeat)

In Your Silence
Our faith will carry on! (x2)
